The annual District Cubs Mini Pioneering Competition took place on Wednesday 12th October at 1st Rhyl HQ.

We didn’t win! Now how did that happen? Well done to all the Cubs who took part. We entered a team who made a good effort and completed all of the tasks.

Mini pioneering for Cubs is making structures using bamboo canes and elastic bands.

The teams scored points for build quality and neatness of their nuclear reactor hoist. They then had to transfer the radioactive rods into the safe zone as quickly as possible.

2nd Rhyl were the winners this year.  Congratulations.

The following evening, after completing some more work towards the Science Badge, rest of the Pack were able to try their skills using the hoist.
