This year’s District Cub Camp took place over the weekend of 10th to 12th July at Rhyl Rugby Club’s ground on the Waen. The Oriental theme gave us inspiration for a number of new games and activities. 5 Packs were able to attend bringing over 80 Cubs.

After the Camp opening, Friday evening got off to a great start with a variety of sports events run by each Group.

Saturday’s events went as planned in glorious sunshine till the evening. The bases kept the Cubs busy, entertained and happy. Saturday evening’s heavy rain meant the wide game and campfire were cancelled but we all met in the club for songs and skits. Many of the Cubs had practised their skits to entertain us all. Dave Beard led the songs and we all had a good time despite the weather.

By Sunday morning the rain had cleared, the sun shone and the fun and games commenced. We were able to break camp with dry tents and dry kit.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this weekend a success. That includes the Cubs – you took part in all the activities and were well behaved. (What am I saying??!!)
