As part of our Community and Environment work we planted trees at the Ffrith on Saturday December 3rd.

In conjunction with Friends of the Ffrith, about 50 trees were planted. Despite the inclement weather (damp, cold and windy), Zac (Beavers), Ryan and Jamie (Cubs), Tyler, Amber, Philip and Sophie (Scouts), together with parents and leaders, worked tremendously hard. In years to come they will be able to proudly point out to their friends and families what they have achieved. The work was overseen by Denbighshire County Council’s Countryside Commission representative, Jim. Jim explained how to plant the trees and what sort of trees were being planted. The trees were several types of Birch, Rowan and Pine. Friends of the Ffrith are committed to keeping the common land at the Ffrith in good condition for all who use it. This includes doing the occasional litter pick and maintaining the wild flower meadow which was planted last year. Work is ongoing to improve access routes through the common land. Hopefully the Group will be able to help them achieve this. We also did some litter picking whilst trees and equipment were being made ready.
