Sunday 12th February 2012
The Group were invited to attend this morning’s service so that Reverend Quentin Bellamy could formerly welcome us to the hall and bless the flags.
Martin Tibbetts had prepared a great sketch for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to perform, which they did admirably. Everyone attending enjoyed the service.
A short while after, Keith received this email:
Dear Keith
Thank you so very much indeed for all the work you did to get the troops into Church this morning; I hope that you all enjoyed the event as much as we did! I am really pleased that your new HQ seems to be working well for you.
I’ve been looking at your website and thought it may be a good idea to add a link to yours from our Parish website – so you’ll see this on www.parishofprestatyn.org.uk I’ve also looked at recent activities of the groups and it all seems very exciting. If you ever need the presence of the vicar for events please let me know. I don’t like to interfere but would always be very happy to pop in “as and when”.
With every blessing
Quentin

Disappointing turnout from members and supporters.
3/9 Beavers, 4/18 Cubs and 1/10 Scouts. Martin Tibbetts (Church representative) spent an hour rehearsing sketches at our Cub night on Thursday. We were led to believe that most would attend!! Luckily those that attended spoke and acted well.
Well done. Also a big thanks to the leaders that gave up their beauty sleep to attend.

Dear Keith
Members of the 3rd Prestatyn Scouts may like to know that Sunday 18 March is Mothering Sunday (sometimes called Mothers’ Day). We’d be delighted to welcome to the Beavers/Cubs/Scouts to our special Mothering Sunday Service at the Parish Church (your group was always known as Christ Church Scouts). For those who struggle to get out of bed on a Sunday morning, the good news is that the Service is at 10.45am. It should last about 40 minutes or so and there’ll be coffee afterwards for the mums and dads (and grandparents) and juice and biscuits for the boys and girls.
We’d love to see you and hope that some of you will take up our invitation.
With all good wishes
Vicar
